Operation School Bell®

Empowers students by providing school appropriate clothing that boosts their self-esteem, enhances their academic and social opportunities and enriches their quality of life.

Dental Care

Provides emergency dental treatment for  school children who cannot afford dental care.
“To Tell the Tooth” is an educational and entertaining puppet show “brushing up” on good dental hygiene habits for all second graders in the greater Whittier schools.

Continuing Education Scholarship

Provides funds for qualifying heads-of-household single parents at Rio Hondo Community College and Whittier College.

Kids on the Block

Uses life-size puppets to present programs addressing disabilities, physical difference and social concerns in order to help school children understand the world around them.

Wee Wardrobe

Provides layettes for newborn infants at PIH Health Hospital-Whittier to be distributed to mothers without basics for their newborns.

Summer Reading Programs

Provides incentives such as puppet and magic shows at the City of Whittier Public Libraries encouraging children to read throughout their summer vacation.

Operation Holiday

Provides Christmas dinners and wrapped gifts to families recommended by the Whittier Salvation Army.

Bookmobile

Delivers books, videos and tapes from Whittier Public Library to Whittier area shut-ins.

This program is designed to support teen parents by providing their children with free, high quality, developmental childcare. But teen parents need books to read to their child. […]

March is Wee Wardrobe baby shower meeting. All members bring new items -diapers, onesies, bibs, receiving blankets, caps, botties, socks and footled sleeper. Members will assemble 45 layettes for PIH maternity ward for mother’s who don’t have anything for their babies to wear home. We had to to cancelled our meeting( because of the virus) […]

Fourth District Supervisor JANICE HALN  of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors once again awarded Assistance League of Whittier $10,000 for Operation School Bell philanthropic program.   The funds were used to help clothe children from South Whittier and Los Nietos School Districts which was held at Target in September.   Thanks you again and again!
